President's Technology Advisory Team

GOALS:

  • Compose the Strategic Technology Plan with measures (by April, 2007)
  • Make budget recommendations for all software and hardware requests and recommend priorities for the Technology budget expenditures
  • Recommend hardware and software standards

All final recommendations will be submitted to the President for consideration.

The work of this team is essential for the smooth functioning of our technology support systems. Therefore, regular meeting attendance and participation is expected. The following is a list of expectations...

WORKING GROUPS

MEMBERSHIP EXPECTATIONS:

All members are appointed by the President.

Regular meetings will be held monthly with additional meetings as needed.

Attendance and participation in meetings is expected of PTAT members due to the nature of the work.

Attendance will be tracked. A Member will be replaced after three absences during any academic year (August through May).

Meetings for the new PTAT will be announced through e-mail to all GCC employees as has been the practice for the College Technology Committee (CTC) meetings. However, the PTAT will be responsible for the meeting discussion process and for developing all recommendations to be forwarded to the College President.

Meetings will be held on the first Friday of each month from 2p-4p and minutes will be available on the College's website following each meeting.

An annual year-end report summarizing the team's work will be published at the end of each academic year.

The Team Chair will be selected by the President.

The President shall be an ex-officio, non-voting member with optional attendance.

Sub-committees may be developed by the Team.

All final Team recommendations must be supported by a majority before submission to the President.

All recommendations from this team will be discussed among the GCC Executive Leadership Team (President and Vice-Presidents) prior to final decision by the President.
