Access your files from off-campus.
Your eGCC home directory and all shared folders are accessible from off-campus. There are three ways to access your files.
WebDAV
To access your home directory or your shared directory, point your WebDAV client at either of the following URLs. You will be prompted to enter your eGCC username and password.
- https://files.gccaz.edu/shared/
For example, if your username is medgar, the home URL would be https://files.gccaz.edu/home/m/e/medgar/.
Note that you will not be able to transfer files or folders containing the hash character, #, via webDAV.
Detailed instructions are available for the following WebDAV clients:
- Windows XP
- Mac OS X
- [Dreamweaver 8]
FTP
To access your files, point your FTP client at ftp.gccaz.edu port 21 and use your eGCC username and password to login.
Unlike [WebDAV] over SSL, FTP is an insecure protocol. Your username, your password, and the contents of all the files you upload and download are sent "in the clear", which means that the unscrupulous may be able to gain access to your account. FTP over SSL should be available soon and instructions will appear here. |
Detailed instructions for using FTP are available for the following clients:
- [FileZilla]
Browser-based file management
You may download files via your web browser, but there is currently no way to upload or modify files in your home directory or shared folders. A web-based file managment utility will be available soon. However, for Windows and Mac OS X users, WebDAV provides a better-integrated method of editing files.
Simply point your web browser at https://files.gccaz.edu/ to get a read-only view of your home directory and shared folders.
