Current Gecko and Glory Web addresses will still work

What did change:

"Location" of Instructional Palette H and S drives and therefore:

Method of accessing your files and course folders from off campus; and the

Method of accessing Instructional Palette (H and S drives) from your office

Course folders have been re-designed and re-created using an automated and standardized format, which means some have been renamed.

All Palette software packages are being reinstalled, a few locally, the rest on SoftGrid.  The most critical applications not already sequenced will be done during the week of accountability, any others will be finalized the first week of classes.

Student e-mail accounts using Outlook Express are not currently automatically set up.

What you will need to do:

Locate your new gccaz (palette) H drive and copy the files you want to save out the "Old folder" and save them to your H drive space.

If you have web pages on gecko, copy the files and folders in Old_Gecko public.www folder into the new Public.www folder.

Locate your new S: drive course folders and verify you have the course folders you should.  You should see all of the higher level folders (e.g.FON141-jdaugher) normally created by the system, for which you are the instructor of record.  For an explanation of new file types see:http://wiki.gc.maricopa.edu/display/docs/GCCAZ+Group+Resources+managed+by+New+Genesis  If you do not have the course folders you need, please send a note to palette-request@student.gc.maricopa.edu.

If you use course folders on Gecko, move your course folder content and subfolders to your new S drive (Shared Space).  Follow the instructions referenced below to locate your new folders, then cut and paste.

If you access course folders and H-drive from off campus or from your office you will need to follow the instructions at  http://wiki.gc.maricopa.edu/display/docs/eGCC+Guide+for+Employees+with+Office+Computers

Log into a Palette workstation and test your software.  If your software is not available, or if you find errors, report them to either the Helpdesk or the Student Helpdesk.

If you have web pages on Gecko, follow the Instructions at http://wiki.gc.maricopa.edu/display/docs/WebPublishing

For instructions on setting up student e-mail accounts using Outlook Express see:  http://wiki.gc.maricopa.edu/display/docs/eGCC+Guide+for+Students

If you need assistance with any or all of these activities, come to the HT2 pit any afternoon during the first week of accountability and the first week of classes.
