Provisioning Applications that have already been sequenced.
Prerequisites:

Content be on both of the content servers 10.1.50.23 and 10.1.50.24, in a identical directory structure. # Using the Active Directory Users and Computers snap add a group to the DomainGroups[[SoftgridApplications]]

  1. Name the group according the name of the application you are provisioning.  Ie... you are provisioning Adobe Acrobat Reader the group would be named something like app_[AdobeReader].  Use the format of one word and capitols to accent new words.
  2. Once you have created the group you will need to add members; for the test environment add [SoftgridAdmins] to the users.
  3. Open Softgrid Management Console
  4. Right click on Applications in the left window pane.  This should bring up a sub menu     
  5. On the submenu click on "Import Applications..."
  6. Navigate to the \\softgrid.gccaz.edu\content\directory*.sprj
  7. Click on the .sprj file of the suite/application that you want to provision
  8. The "New Application Wizard" Should open. 
    1. On the first screen the name of the application "should" appear correctly.  Check it for accuracy.
    2. The next line will be the "Version" of the application.  This information should also be there already, check it for accuracy.
    3. On the next line there is a space for description:  Enter the initials of the person who sequenced the app and the person who is provisioning it.  Ie... Sequenced*SKB*Provisioned*RSS*
    4. Check the OSD file and make sure it correctly points to the OSD file you want to use.  If it does not browse to the correct file or type in the absolute path to the proper OSD file.
    5. Check the ico file and make sure it correctly points to the ico file you want to use.  If it does not browse to the correct file or type in the absolute path to the proper ico file.
    6. Chose the application license group that the application belongs to.  If it does not belong to a license group leave this at none.
    7. Chose the server group that this will belong to: Softgrid.gccaz.edu
  9. The next screen will ask you where you want to publish shortcuts to the applications.  Click all that apply and then next.
  10. The next screen will list any file associations with the application, you can also add any file associations you want here.
  11. The next screen you will be asked who you wish to grant rights to, to use or access the application.  Here you want to click add, then navigate to the group that you created earlier.. ie [AdobeReader].  In our test environment you would double click on DomainGroups then [SoftgridApplications] then [AdobeReader] group.  Once you have the group you want to add highlighted, click OK.
  12. You should be back at the application wizard now.  Click OK
  13. Click Finsih
  14. At this point you will be given a summary screen. 
  15. Now the application should show up in the list of applications in your management console with the appropriate icon.

Once you reach this point, you and the client is refreshed the icon should show up to where you published it and run.
