Green Efforts at GCC - January 11, 2008 Meeting -  Meeting Minutes

Present:  Robert Reavis, Kim Smith, Mary Harris, Steve Kadel, Mary Jane, Jeann Saint-Amour, Ken Bus, Suzanne Higgins, Mark Floor, Chuck Geoffries, Dolly Marden

1. The web page was presented. Only slight revisions were suggested. Ken Bus spoke about The 11thHour and is satisfied with the advertising. Susanne Higgins discussed publicity and came to verify details. Gaucho TV will  be contacted by Mark.  Powerpoint slides are needed - Kim will provide.  Mark Floor will check with media as to how it needs to be formatted.

2. We Finalized Schedule of Events, Speakers, List of Vendors  -- note from Dolly - need to know: who is coming, insurance papers completed; number of tables (1-2),  electrical needs (limited outlets).  Kim will update vendor page on wiki.

  1. Vendors must be contacted by the 15th. Vendor document cut off date:   1/22?    The vendor needs to send a copy of insurance form.  Non-profits need to have a waiver. Only a real non-profit org not selling is entitled to a waiver of insurance.   Mary Harris asked about the hydrogen car representative. That person needs to fill out an assumption of risk form. More discussion is needed.  Note: contact Al Gonzalez
  2. Need to update Wiki -it will now be viewed by public as the Schedule - Kim will do tonight

Note from Doris regarding the student voting:

  • We will have strategically-positioned signs that will lead to High Tech 1 and High Tech 2 that will say, VOTE HERE.
  • We'll have the URLs for the web voting site on slips of paper to hand in to our "voters."
  • I am also strongly tending toward designating in both centers a pod of "reserved voting stations" with appropriate tented signage and URL information.

Additional computers are being considered. Kim has offered to have Stem Club man computers inside the SU for voting and carbon footprinting on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 2. Computers for this will be obtained from the Critter Farm.
