Present:  Jennifer Koslo, Bonnie Loss, Karen Russo, Jim Daugherty, Renee Barstack, Mary Jane Onnen (phone), Stephen Williams, and Sue Murry.

Update on Poster Session:  We should have about 18 posters being displayed and discussed with a variety of topics--some technical and some non-tech stuff.  Notebooks (binders) have been prepared, water bottles are having labels attached to them. Door prizes are available.  (Bonnie Loss indicated she would talk to her MAC rep to see if they would provide a prize or two.)  Sue Murry will send a special email to Dr. Green inviting her to attend the session.

FYRE Program  Discussed the proposed FYRE Program agenda provided by Mary Jane and Steve and did some additional brainstorming on ways to cover the Welcome Mixer on Friday, August 11.  The new faculty will meet in A123 to meet and greet each other and some administrators before beginning a campus tour which will include a few critical areas:  Mailroom, Help Desk, Safety Offices, Enrollment Center.  They will receive a FYRE notebook with two basic "survival guides"--one for surviving administrative tasks and the other for surviving students.  From there they will go throug the LMC to HT1 where Sue Murry will meet them for a quick tour through and on to HT2 where they will log into the Palette.  Sue will have usernames for all of them.  Then on to lunch and hopefully a chance to meet Dr. Green and others of importance. 

Course-Level Assessment Coordinator It appears that Ann Brandt-Williams will be extending her Medical Leave for Fall semester, so it will be necessary to hire a coordinator for next year.  This is a 3-hour release position per semester.  We discussed the announcement and how it would be presented during week of accountability. 

Online/Hybrid Facilitator Job Description  Approved the hiring criteria we established and posted in the minutes of the July12/13 meetings.  The initial announcement will be made during the Faculty Meeting following Convocation and with an email to GCC faculty.  There will be a reminder email sent on Sept 1 with the deadline for applications of September 8.  We should be able to complete the selection process and have a facilitator in place by October 1 at the latest.  In order to accommodate established teaching schedules for Fall semester, this could be an overload assignment; but by Spring, teaching schedules would be changed and it would be a release assignment.   

Meet Dr. Green  Steve Williams will invite Dr. Green to a luncheon meeting in the FCC for the Advisory Group to meet with her as soon as possible in the semester to discuss our plans and ideas for the future.  Date will be announced later.
