Things we have to do in order to succeed in the fall

  1. Identify minimum hardware required by home users  (system requirements: http://secure-web7.secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php)
  2. Identiy workstations on campus that will run SL (pods?  buildings?) and test with new image
  3. Develop and test instructions for running SL from thumb drives (instructions: http://ets.tlt.psu.edu/virtualworlds/?p=90)
  4. Develop and test procedure for updating the client for on-campus users (download page: http://secondlife.com/community/downloads.php)
  5. Automate traffic collection
  6. Write beginning instructions for users (do not duplicate SL instructions)
  7. Set up way for students to identify/authenticate themselves as GCC students {web page?  Special SL group?]
  8. Identify where to go for GCC support (phone, email, web page?)  Provide links to wireless instructions.
  9. Agree on community standards and place to publish them (Welcome board at the Teleport Hub?)
  10. Figure out how to distribute plots of land
  11. Create new blog or modify the old one to act as a news and announcements area for GCC users (multiple writers, real names?)

Next meeting in HT2-PIT on Wed. July 11th at 1 pm to explore issues 1-4 (and more).
