March 3, 2007 Skills Assessment Team Meeting Minutes
Discussed approval to use the TechNets Skill Matrix for our skills inventory. The parties who created the document have given us permission to use it with attribution. We plan to use the matrix as a template and make modifications as necessary. The group is skill evaluating the items to be included with a final matrix proposed in the next PTAT Meeting (3/23). We intend on letting members of the PTAT to also make suggestions in the content of the document.
The group commented on the number of [TechNet] Matrix skill items (predicted to be 900 hundred) and the time demands on an already busy I/T Staff. It was decided that some of the categories and questions were not going to be relavent and that the tool that administered the inventory questionnaire needed to support a not applicable option to by-pass some skill items. There was some skepticism that the Tool used by Institutional Research could support this. Michelle will research and see if another tool could provide this support.
We discussed the scope of our project and agreed to focus on the inventory first and then after the inventory was complete and the goals and strategies were formalized by PTAT, that another survey possibly using a modified version of the [TechNet] Skills Matrix would be used to organizational analysis. More on this in the future.

PTAT Sub Group Team Leader Meeting Friday March 8th
I have reviewed our plans with the other Team Leaders and none our project plans appear to conflict or overlap with what other groups are focusing on. They are aware they we are considering a follow on activity focusing on organization analysis. We have been asked to prepare what we have done so far at the next PTAT meeting. I would like to be able to summarize our plans and have a proposed version of our Skills Matrix
